Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard, who was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon. ... He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? ... Then Daniel went in and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would show the king the interpretation.
And behold, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in. ... And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. ... And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.
