(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 11:26

While he was out trying to destroy God’s congregation (doing it secretly with Mosiah’s sons), trying to destroy the congregation and lead the Lord’s people astray, violating not only God’s commandments but also the king’s — and as I told you, as they were going about rebelling against God, the angel of the Lord appeared to them, descending in what seemed like a cloud.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 11:29

They traveled throughout the land of Zarahemla and among all the people who were under king Mosiah’s rule, earnestly trying to repair all the harm they had done to the congregation, confessing their sins, explaining everything they had seen, and teaching the prophecies and scriptures to all who wanted to hear them.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 12:1

After Mosiah’s sons had done all this, they took a small number with them and went to their father the king and asked him to allow them to go up to the land of Nephi with those they had chosen, in order to preach what they had heard and share God’s word with their Lamanite brothers and sisters, so they could perhaps bring them to know the Lord who is God and convince them of their forefathers’ iniquity.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 12:2

And king Mosiah went and asked the Lord if he should let his sons go among the Lamanites to preach the word.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 12:3

Now king Mosiah had no one to confer the kingdom on, since none of his sons would accept the kingdom.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 13:1

Now, as I was saying, after king Mosiah had done these things, he took the brass plates and everything he had kept — all the records and the Interpreters as well — and conferred them on Alma’s son Alma, and commanded him to maintain and protect them, adding to the record of the people.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 13:2

When Mosiah had done this, he sent a message across the land, asking the people who they wanted as the next king. ... And the people voted and said: We want your son Aaron to govern as our king. ... Therefore king Mosiah again sent a written message, asking: My people or my brothers and sisters — because I consider you to be that — I want you to think carefully about what you decide. ... You want to have a king. ... Now I’ll be your king for the rest of my days.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 13:3

Therefore if it were possible for you to always have righteous men as your kings, who would establish God’s laws and judge this people according to His commandments, if you could always have men for your kings who would act just like my father Benjamin did for us — I tell you that if this could always be the case, then it would be fine for kings to rule us.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 13:4

Now I’m telling you that because not all men are just, it isn’t good for you to have kings rule over you. ... Because one wicked king causes so much iniquity to be committed and so much destruction! ... Remember king Noah, his wickedness and abominations, and the resulting wickedness and abominations of his people.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 13:5

Now I tell you: You can’t remove an iniquitous king from power without terrible conflict, bloodshed, and killing. ... And so an unrighteous king corrupts and perverts the ways of all righteousness.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 13:7

I’ve commanded you to do these things to respect the Lord; I’ve commanded you to do these things and to not have a king, and if these people commit sins and iniquities, they will be responsible for them. ... I tell you: The sins of many people have resulted from their kings’ iniquities; therefore their iniquities are their king’s responsibility.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 13:8

King Mosiah wrote many more things to them, explaining all the trials and troubles of a righteous king: the worrying for his people and the people’s complaints to their king; he explained it all to them. ... He also explained the disadvantages they labored under by having an unrighteous king rule over them: the risks of iniquities and abominations, and the wars, conflicts, slaughter, theft, plunder, whoredoms, and all kinds of sin which can’t all be named, telling them these things should be avoided by them, that they were directly contrary to God’s commandments.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 13:9

After king Mosiah sent this message to the people, they were convinced it was true. ... So they gave up their desire to have a king and became very eager for equality for all.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 13:11

And that ended the rule of kings over the Nephites; and Alma’s days also ended, who was the founder of their congregation.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 1:1

King Mosiah died and returned to the dust of the earth after fighting a good fight and living righteously before God. ... In the first year of the rule of the judges over the Nephites, the people followed the laws king Mosiah established.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 1:2

Therefore you’re condemned to die according to the law given by Mosiah, our last king.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 1:8

He had so many followers that they became very powerful and wanted to establish Amlici as their king.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 1:9

And the vote went against Amlici, so he wasn’t made king over the people.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 1:10

His supporters then anointed Amlici to be their king anyway. ... After Amlici was made their king, he ordered them to go to war against their fellow Nephites, hoping to force them under his control.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 1:15

He then fought the king of the Lamanites, but the king of the Lamanites retreated from Alma and sent his guards to fight him. ... Alma’s guards battled the king of the Lamanites’ guards who were killed or ran away.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 3:1

I testify they were liberated from king Noah’s control by God’s mercy and power.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 3:9

My dear people, I tell you the Spirit says: The glory of the King of the whole earth and of the King of heaven will very soon be seen here with us.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 8:5

Mosiah, who was our last king, when he was about to give up the kingdom, had no one to confer it on.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 8:10

Then king Mosiah standardized the system of calculations and measurements.

(Covenant of Christ) Alma 10:2

And Melchizedek established peace in the land during his time; so he was called the Prince of Peace, because he was the King of Salem; and he ruled and taught under his father.
