(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 1:9

Even I whom you call your king am no better than you are, because I’m also made from dust. ... Furthermore, I’ve asked you to come today so I can announce that I can no longer be your teacher or your king. ... He’s let me talk to you and has commanded me to now announce that my son Mosiah is a king and ruler over you.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 2:1

Now when king Benjamin had finished speaking the words that had been delivered to him by the angel of the Lord, he looked around at the crowd.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 2:2

And according to what king Benjamin had taught them, and because of the great faith they had in Jesus Christ, they gained peace of conscience. ... And king Benjamin resumed teaching them, saying: My friends, my brothers and sisters, my relatives, and my people, please listen for I have more to say.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 3:1

After king Benjamin had said all these things to his people, he sent out a message, asking his people if they believed what he taught them. ... And it’s our faith in the things our king has taught us that’s given us this valuable knowledge, which makes us rejoice!

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 3:2

Now these are the words king Benjamin hoped to hear from them.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 4:1

After finishing his speech to the people, king Benjamin decided to make a record of the names of everyone who had made a covenant with God to keep His commandments. ... After king Benjamin had completed all his duties and consecrated his son Mosiah as the new ruler and king over his people, he transferred all the kingdom’s responsibilities to him.

King Mosiah enjoyed three years of peace, but he became curious about the people who had left Zarahemla to live in the land of Lehi-Nephi.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 5:2

Eventually, king Mosiah gave his permission for 16 strong men to search for them in the land of Lehi-Nephi and find out what happened to them. ... While they were there, they met the king of the people living in the lands of Nephi and Shilom. ... While there, they were surrounded by the king’s guard, captured, tied up, and imprisoned.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 5:3

After they had been in prison for two days, their hands were untied, and they were again brought before the king. ... They stood before the king and were permitted — or rather ordered — to answer the questions he asked them. ... By the voice of the people, I’ve been made king over this land.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 5:4

When Ammon saw that he was allowed to speak, he stepped forward and bowed before the king. ... Rising, he said: O king, I’m very grateful to God today that I’m still alive and able to speak.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 5:6

King Limhi gave orders to his guards to release Ammon and his men from detention.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 5:7

King Limhi sent out an announcement to his people on the following day, asking them to gather at the temple to hear what he had to say.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 5:8

You’re all witnesses today that Zeniff, who was made king over this people, was ambitious to reclaim his ancestral land as an inheritance. ... He was misled by the careful fraud of king Laman, who made a treaty with king Zeniff, giving him part of the land — including the city of Lehi-Nephi, the city of Shilom, and the surrounding area. ... Now, we pay taxes to the king of the Lamanites, giving them one-half of our corn, barley, and grain of every kind, as well as one-half of the increase of our flocks and herds. ... The king of the Lamanites even demands one-half of all that we own and threatens to take our lives if we fail to pay.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 5:11

After king Limhi finished addressing his people, saying more than what’s recorded here, he informed them about their relatives in the land of Zarahemla. ... Additionally, Ammon explained to king Limhi’s people the final teachings of king Benjamin, to familiarize them with what he taught. ... After finishing, king Limhi dismissed the crowd and allowed them to return to their homes.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 5:12

As soon as Ammon finished reading the record, the king asked him if he could interpret languages. ... Then the king said to him: Because I was troubled by the suffering of my people, I sent 43 of them to explore the wilderness in search of the land of Zarahemla, hoping our relatives there could help free us from slavery.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 5:13

Ammon then replied: I can confidently inform you, king, about a man who’s able to translate the records. ... The king in Zarahemla is the one who’s been commanded to perform these tasks; he’s been given this special gift from God. ... The king declared that a seer is greater than a prophet.

I went out with four of my men and entered the city to see the king, to find out what the king thought, to learn if I could enter the land with my people and settle there peacefully. ... I went to the king and he made a pact with me that I could have the land of Lehi-Nephi and the land of Shilom. ... Now king Laman, in his clever fraud, provided the land for us to live on while planning to make my people his slaves.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 6:3

After we had lived there for 12 years, king Laman began to grow uneasy fearing my people were getting too strong for his plan to overpower them and enslave them.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 6:4

So king Laman began to provoke his people to get them to attack us; as a result, there were wars and conflicts.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 6:8

Then king Laman died, and his son replaced him.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 6:12

And because of this, king Laman has — by his sly, devious lies and tempting promises — deceived me, so that I led my people up into this land, and now they want to destroy them.

(Covenant of Christ) Mosiah 7:1

In this way they were supported in their laziness, idolatry, and whoredoms by the taxes king Noah imposed on his people. ... They were deceived by the king’s and priests’ lying praise and reassurances, appealing to their pride, so much that they reverted to idolatry.
