And he changes the times and the seasons, he removes kings and sets up kings, he gives wisdom unto the wise and knowledge to them that know understanding. ... I thank you and praise you, O you God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have made known unto me now what we desired of you; for you have now made known unto us the king’s matter.
The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.

In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, began to reign. ... Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? ... In those days, the Lord began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah.
And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying, Let me pass through your land. ... We will not drink of the waters of the well, but we will go along by the king’s highway until we are past your borders. ... For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.
Yea, the kings of the gentiles shall be nursing fathers unto them, and their queens shall become nursing mothers. ... And this land shall be a land of liberty unto the gentiles, and there shall be no kings upon the land who shall raise up unto the gentiles, and I will fortify this land against all other nations. ... And he that fighteth against Zion shall perish, saith God, for he that raiseth up a king against me shall perish. ... For I the Lord, the King of Heaven, will be their king, and I will be a light unto them for ever that hear my words.
And the king said unto the people, I will surely go forth with you myself also. ... And the king said unto them, What seems best to you, I will do. ... And the king stood by the gate side, and all the people came out by hundreds and by thousands. ... And the king commanded Joab, and Abishai, and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom. ... But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s food, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore, he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. ... Now God had brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs, and the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink. ... Then shall you make me endanger my head to the king. ... Then let our countenances be looked upon before you, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king’s food, and as you see, deal with your servants. ... So Zedekiah the king swore secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the Lord lives that made us this soul, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men that seek your life.
Now Alma having been warned of the Lord that the armies of king Noah would come upon them and had made it known to his people, therefore they gathered together their flocks, and took of their grain, and departed into the wilderness before the armies of king Noah. ... And the Lord did strengthen them, that the people of king Noah could not overtake them to destroy them.

And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house (and the man stood by me), and he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile — neither they nor their kings — by their whoredom, nor by the carcasses of their kings in their high places. ... Now let them put away their whoredom and the carcasses of their kings far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever.
