Minister (v.)
To minister means to impart knowledge and blessings.1 The word minister originally meant to carry out religious ceremonies and offer religious assistance, as well as to provide various forms of service, aid, or even medical care. It signifies the act of serving, administering, attending to, and waiting upon others.2 Ministering includes numerous blessings, such as the conferring of blessings, praying, performing ordinances, offering encouragement, and providing true charity. In the given context, the term minister holds a broad range of meanings. For instance, when Jesus provides guidance to the brother of Jared (Ether 1:14), it might be more accurately rendered “instructed” rather than “ministered.”3
