Minds Darkened

Failure to acquire the light that God has and does offer to mortals. The Lord stated in 1832 (when the book of Mormon had been available for only two years): And your minds in times past have been darkened because of unbelief, and because you have treated lightly the things you have received, which vanity and unbelief have brought the whole church under condemnation (T&C 82:20). The light man has been offered has been “treated lightly” or not sufficiently examined as to what it asks them to “do.” Treating something lightly is to give it perfunctory or superficial examination.¹
